Recently I was watching TV and saw a commercial for a chicken company. It proudly stated that their chicken were fed a strictly vegetarian diet composed of corn, soybeans, and other grains. Grain fed eggs have an Omega 6 ratio to Omega 3 of 20 to 1. Free range chicken (not cage-free) have eggs that have a 1.5 to 1. Both Omega 3 and 6 are essential to the body. However, to put it in simple terms, Omega 6 fatty acids are considered to promote inflammation, on the contrary, Omega 3 promote anti-inflammatory reactions. So just because an advertiser puts a nice tune in the background and some cute kids running around, it does not make the product optimal for health! Eat Healthy!!!!
